September 25 is one of those dates that refuses to sit quietly in the calendar.
It arrives carrying medicine and dreams, civil rights and exploration, mathematics and comic books, undersea cables and spaceflight, daughters and koalas, bakeries and quesadillas.
In other words...

Today is World Pharmacists Day, honoring the pharmacists who stand between medicine, safety, access, and the people who depend upon them.
It is also World Dream Day, sometimes called the International Day for Dreamers, a reminder that ideas do not have to remain wisps in the mind. Dreams become projects. Projects become plans. Plans become something real. AIAI.today SEPTEMBER 25
And on International Ataxia Awareness Day, attention turns toward neurological conditions affecting balance and coordination, while Save the Koala Day asks us to remember that the natural world cannot advocate for itself in city halls, boardrooms, or parliaments. Across the United States, the calendar gets even more wonderfully crowded.
There is National Daughters Day, honoring daughters and the relationships woven around them.

There is Math Storytelling Day, which may sound wonderfully odd until we remember that humanity has always learned through stories. Mathematics is no exception.
And then the kitchen doors swing open.
National Lobster Day.
National Quesadilla Day.
National Cooking Day.
National Bakery Day.
National Crab Meat Newburg Day.
If civilization ever collapses, apparently September 25 intends to feed everybody first. 😄
There is even Binge Day and National Comic Book Day, because sometimes culture advances through epics, sometimes equations...

But September 25 also carries remarkable historical weight.

In 1957, federal troops were deployed to protect the Little Rock Nine, enforcing the integration of Central High School in Arkansas.

It lasted exactly one edition.
Authorities shut it down.
